  • Bundeskanzleramt

Located in the Mitte district, the Bundeskanzleramt, or German Chancellery, is not just the highest seat of power in Germany. It's a post-modern architectural statement.

Designed by architects Axel Schultes and Charlotte Franz during the presidency of Helmut Kohl, the building cost 456 million Euro and took four years to complete. Today the complex, measuring a total of 73,000 sqm, houses many classic modern artworks, including an iron sculpture by the Basque artist Eduardo Chillida.
