This reconstructed majestic hilltop castle from the late 19th century was an ancestral seat of the Counts and later Dukes of Berg.
Burg Castle is the largest reconstructed castle complex in North Rhine-Westphalia, one of the largest castles in all of Western Germany, and a popular tourist attraction. The entire plot is protected as a historic monument. The arched bridge leads visitors over the former moat to the moat gate and into a small courtyard. Many events are held at Burg Castle. Every year around 250,000 people visit the cultural site in the Rhineland.
