Besides being one of the great landmarks of Saarland, the Celtic Ringwall near Otzenhausen is one of the most significant sights of the Celtic era in Europe. At the Celtic Park ("Keltenpark") at the foot of the wall, visitors can experience the fascinating history of this impressive sight first hand, spanning 2.500 years.
The Celtic Village ("Keltendorf"), which opened in May 2016, offers fascinating insights into the way of life as well as the arts and crafts of the Celts - or the Treverer, to be more precise, the local Celtic tribe. The village comprises a total of 10 residential, craft and storage buildings and covers an area of around 1.900 sqm. The programme and the guided tours give an impression of the late Latène period (150 - 10 BC), when the ring wall experienced its greatest expansion.
