This approximately 6 kilometre-long premium rambling trail is recommended particularly for families with children. Not just because of its numerous stop-off and lookout points but because it also offers exciting activity stations along the way, just waiting to be discovered by young and old alike. Thanks to its very innovative route concept, the Nahe Source Trail was awarded the McTREK Innovation Prize in 2018.
The start and end of this circular rambling trail is the source of the Nahe in Selbach, with a small playground and a "book tree" with books for borrowing or swapping. The trail passes through various forestscapes, and past small water ditches and areas of marshland. The "Sengert" at an elevation of around 524 metres offers an impressive panoramic view across the Saarland. A large wildlife enclosure with a pond, along with a bee trail with an insect hotel, enable visitors to learn about the local fauna.
